Little things from September

While I was folding laundry, Ellie grabbed one of Ismael's shirts, put it on, and said that she was Jesus. Hmm...

Ellie has stopped taking a nap most days because she has been having a hard time falling asleep at night. She does really good until 5 o'clock hits. I was cooking in the kitchen and heard her fall over. She was just sitting there and fell asleep sitting up.

Myla found her thumb! I caught her sucking her thumb. This has really been the only time she has done it.

bath time!

On Labor Day,we took Ellie to Kylde Warren Park. It was so hot! She loved playing in the water.

This vase was out by our dumpster one morning so Ismael picked it up. On his way home he got me some flowers from Trader Joe's and surprised me so I could make an arrangement. It was so fun to have fresh flowers in the house.

I could watch her sleep all the time

Out for a walk one evening

One morning, Ellie was begging me to do a craft. I hurried and pulled up pinterest and found this easy rainbow craft. She loved it because it was raining outside.

I found an awesome deal on this double stroller that I had been waiting for! I have already taken it on so many walks and I love it.

Ellie grabbed my phone while I was exercising and took pictures. I couldn't help but laugh when I went back through and saw this lovely of me.

Even funnier, the picture she got of Jillian and her assistant on the TV.

I attempted again at homemade bread! These have been the best loaves I have made so far.

Bedtime Routine

Our bedtime routine is quite an adventure. Ellie makes sure we don't miss anything. It goes like this:

bath time, change all of ellie's gauze and trach ties, one story of Ellie's choice, scripture story, floss her teeth, brush her teeth, wash her face (she recently added that on in herself), say prayers, hug and kiss goodnight, turn on her "sophia" light, has us get her sippy cup, and requests food in her "tubie girl"

She seems to add new things all the time to make the routine last longer. She is not a fan of bedtime.

Ismael reading a story to both of the girls. Sometimes he does the routine himself while I feed Myla.

Myla's version of tummy time after a minute.

Myla is happy and content to just lay in her crib while we put Ellie to bed.

I love her sweet baby feet

Ellie and Ismael have such a special relationship. She really adores him and he takes such good care of her.

and one last good night kiss for Myla..

Some nights we are so tired that we try and rush getting the girls to bed. We are trying to slow down and savor the special moments with them, because time is passing so quickly.

The rest of August

August was such a hot month! I am glad it is finally cooling down a little bit.

I find Ellie entertaining Myla a lot. Its great. I love how Myla just watches Ellie all the time and Ellie is always so sweet when it come to her.

Myla loves her playmat. She spends a lot of her awake time there looking at her toys.

Being a parent of a toddler has been difficult, but rewarding. I have been a little exhausted from Ellie's constant care and needing me, it feels like there isn't really a break because she gets up so early and is really hard to get to her bed, plus she isn't really taking her nap anymore. Sometimes I feel like I am failing as a parent, but I am so grateful for her and her example to me. She is always so forgiving and thoughtful.

We went to  a few little friends from the ward birthday celebration at the splash pad. I was a little nervous with Ellie's trach, but luckily she just wanted to play on the sides because she was scared.

Ismael and I celebrated our four year anniversary! We are so bad at getting pics together. Jill Stewart watched Ellie for us while we went out to dinner at Off Site Kitchen and had dessert and the Cake Bar in Trinity Grove. It was nice to have an evening together to just talk and focus on each other. We always review our past years and talk about our favorite memories.

We went to Braums one evening to get ice cream.

The evenings started to cool off a little bit in the 80s towards the end of August, so we took advantage and got in some walks.

Myla is the sweetest.
