We went to the Arboretum with our friends from our apartment complex. Ellie and Flora have become pretty good friends.

Ellie has speech therapy (for eating)  twice a week. She loves her therapist Maura. Ellie has vitalstim (the stickers on her chin) to stimulate her swallowing muscles and strengthen them. She does so good with this! Right now Ellie is just doing water trials. We color the water we feed her with food coloring so we can tell if it comes out of her trach colored if she is aspirating or not. We also thicken the water so it is easier to swallow.

I experienced my first tornado warning a few weeks ago. Ellie and I were watching the storm from our window, and then we heard the tornado sirens and got a text on our phone to find shelter immediately. We hung out in our bathroom for about a half an hour until it was ok to come out.

The beautiful evening sky after the storm.

Best smile around!

Our little porch garden has started producing! I don't know if we will get much, but it has been fun to have some things growing. Here are our green beans:

and our peppers.

Life is so good!

My Mom and Sisters

On our girls trip, we had one of my friends from college, Jamie Nokleby, who was actually in Chrissy's ward in Arizona, take some pictures of my sisters and mom together. These pictures make me so happy! My sisters and my mom are a HUGE blessing in my life. I am so grateful for the relationship I have with each of them.

I am so grateful I can call any of them, at anytime to talk. Seriously, I am so lucky.

Each night, we stayed up late, had a spiritual thought together, and talked for a few hours. This was one of my favorite parts of the trip. I came home feeling renewed to be a better wife, mom, and person. I look up to all of them in so many ways.

We have the most beautiful mother!

So glad I got to have Ellie with me.

Can't wait for our  next girls trip in two years!

We had a few rainstorms in April. When it rains here, it really comes down. I love it! This was general conference weekend.

We love going out on the grass behind our apartment and laying out on the blanket. Ellie plays soccer with Ismael, and sometimes Ismael and I play volleyball.

April 15-19th Ellie and I flew to Arizona for our girls trip with my mom and sisters. It was so good to be with everyone! There is nothing like being together with my mom and sisters! Our second day there, I came down with hand, foot, and mouth disease. It is such a nasty virus! I was feverish,  had a really sore throat,  and a rash on my hands and feet. I felt so bad because Paige and Covey caught it from me.

We did a lot of shopping, shopping, and more shopping! Ellie was such a good sport.

One of the days, we went to the train park in Scottsdale. Ellie loved going on the carousel and the train around the park. Such a fun little place to go!

On the airplane on the ride home.

I lucked out! After about 20 minutes on the plane, Ellie fell asleep and slept the whole way home. We were on the plane for a little over three hours, because we had a short stop in ABQ.

The day after we got home was Easter. I went into the urgent care in the morning because I was getting a little worried about the weird rash I had. Luckily it was just the virus. We went out and did a little egg hunt for Ellie that afternoon.

We go on a lot of walks to the lakes at our apartments. Ellie loves it because she gets to feed the fish, ducks, and turtles. I love having such a nice trail so close to us.

Ellie also loves the park. We take her there a few times a week. She just started going down the slide all by herself!
