Good News

Well it has been a crazy week for us and we just wanted to update everyone on whats going on. On Tuesday, after a lots discussion with all the doctors, they decided Ellie needed to be transported. So they got everything going on getting her transported. We started packing up our apartment and getting things ready to go too. It was decided that Ellie was going to be transported to Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City.

Since Ellie was in such a delicate condition, everyone was really nervous about the transport. They took her on a Learjet so it would be faster and smoother. There is usually one spot for a parent to go on the transport with her but they wanted to take the anesthesiologist in case anything were to happen to her. The transport happened on Thursday afternoon and Ellie got here in Salt Lake around 5:00. I flew out of New Mexico and got into Salt Lake around 8 pm. Ismael finished packing up our apartment into our car late that night and started driving to Salt Lake. He got here around noon the next day. Everything with Ellie's transport went pretty well. They hit some turbulence  which caused her to make more secretions, so she started desatting. They had to bag her to bring her back up and after they suctioned her she did well. We were so relieved to get her here and settled!

Yesterday the doctors did a bronchoscopy to see what was going on and to see if her repair had healed well. Her repair looks great and all healed! Right now they are starting to wean her off of the morphine and sedation so that we can get her extubated and breathing on her own. We aren't sure what the next step will exactly be after that, but the goal is to get her all ready for her next surgery. We feel so blessed to be here close to family and that Ellie is doing so well. Thank you for all your prayers and support!
